The new Cooperative Grufrut group is legally binding since 1 April. It was created from the merger of two cooperatives, Grufrut (Steinmannwald) and ESO (Branzoll) and is headed by the president Otmar Clementi and his substitute Paul Zelger.

Already one and a half years ago Grufrut and ESO had set the course for the future. The idea: create a joint market presence as a larger unit. The driving force was Hermann Anesi, president of Grufrut. The 173 members carried unanimously the merger agreement. Unsurprisingly, as the merger rose the efficient usage of present structures and leads, therefore, to a long term optimization of the members income.

The cooperative supplies about 56,000 tons of fruit. The apples are grown on 385,54 hectares between Bozen and Salurn exclusively according to the GlobalGAP guidelines.

The company office is in Bronzoll. After a short transition period the entire harvest is processed and loaded here. Therefore the packaging area is adjusted and optimized. Still in 2011 the storage capacity in Bronzoll will be extended to 1,700 tons.
