The fruit cooperative “Lanafruit” was created on 01.01.2009 out of the fusion of the fruit cooperatives “Pomus” and “Lanafrucht Ogol”.
In the history of this cooperative, this was already the second merger.
In 2001 the fruit cooperative Lanafrucht (founded in 1959) merged with the fruit cooperative Ogol (founded in 1965). It produced as a result a cooperative with 32,000 tons of fruit produced.
In 2009 a further fusion was decided upon. This time they merged with the fruit cooperative “Pomus”, which was founded in 1926.
The new company was given the name “Lanafruit” and is, with an impressive harvest yield of 54,000 tons of apples, the second largest marketing facility in the VOG group.
The new company produces a palette of modern varieties of highest quality.
The production area includes the community of Lana and its neighboring communities as well as the higher altitude orchards of Völlan.
Under the management of Chairman Norbert Ladurner Schnitzer, the new company desires to quickly fulfill the wishes and requirements of their customers and in this way to become an attractive and well-organized partner in the apple sector.
