A co-operative with tradition. The SACRA co-operative was founded by 27 farmers in 1935. In the same year they also invested in new storage premises, for which they paid 210,000 Lira. They needed to do this because the delivery quantity was already 100 tonnes of apples and also 30 tonnes of table grapes. That may not sound like today, but in 1937 these were successful harvests, and they needed to be brought into safe storage.

In 1942 the co-operative joined the export company, which had just started up. In 1945 it also became a member of the VOG.

It was not only the number of members that increased: so did the size of the harvests, which had already reached 187 carts by 1947. The first managing director, Franz Marx, was appointed in 1956:

The economic upturn brought increased growth, which in turn led to investment in modernization. For example, the first refrigerated store with temperature control was built in 1964. In 1966, SACRA joined the VOG Obstverarbeitung Leifers. SACRA's belief in tradition is also shown in what it cultivates: almost half of the co-operative's harvest is Golden Delicious apples.

Today, its 230 members cultivate over 300 hectares of land and produce more than 16,000 tonnes of fruit every year.
